No. Wetsuits and surfboards that are attached to participants at all times when in the water provides sufficent buoyancy. Also we will never take any participant into a water depth that they feel uncomfortable in.
Yes. In our Surf School we supply you with high quality, warm, flexible surfing wetsuits. We also supply everyone with beginner surf boards, which have soft tops and flexible fins, to provide sufficient safety.
All participants are asked to show up in Surf N Stay: Strandhill Lodge, Hostel & Surf School 30 mins prior to the lesson time. Get directions in Google Maps.
On the site you will be fitted with a wetsuit and sized with a surfboard.
We have dedicated male & female changing facilities, with indoor showers as well as a toilet. These facilities are conveniently located at our surf school.
All our instructors have both level 1 Surf Instructors and Beach Lifeguard Qualification. Four of the senior instructors have also got level 2 qualifications and each have an average of 15 years experience in surfing the local waves. The safety of all participants is assured during all sessions.
You should never be cold in a surf lesson. During the winter months (November to April) we supply booties, gloves and hoodies with 5mm-thick winter wetsuits. With the right equipment you are warm in the water. And we provide that for you.
